Mancora is a Little Paradise where the sun is shining all year long. If you are looking for a really good weather, magical beaches, perfect waves and delicious seafood you must visit Mancora.
The consistently good surf and bath-tub-warm waters draw a sun-bleached, board-toting bunch, and raucous nightlife keeps visitors busy after the sun dips into the sea in a ball of fiery flames.
One of the most popular activities that you are not going to forget is snorkeling with giant sea turtles – the world’s oldest and most majestic creatures. The best time to do it is in the morning when there are not too many tourists, you have to take a short trip to the pier (20 min from Mancora). Once you are there, jump on in! At any time there are between 10 and 40 turtles swimming around the pier. They are fun and will try to get close to you, swim with you, push or get over you.
Swimming with the turtles, while super touristy, is an awesome experience and definitely not to be missed if you are passing through Mancora!
Other incredible experience is whale watching. Whale season runs from August through October, when it’s even possible to see them breaching the water just off shore— though this amazing sight still is best seen by boat. Whale watching in Mancora has some awesome extras too! It´s feeding frenzy, Dolphins in their hundreds rounding up a huge shoal of fish, and at the same time you can enjoy watching the Blue Footed Boobies attacking the sea from the sky, like kamikaze pilots, hitting the ocean at blistering speeds. The birds are disappearing into the blue and at the same time dolphins breaching for a breath of air. It´s outstanding.
