Barranco is the most romantic and bohemian district of Lima, being the home and working place of many of Peru’s leading artists, musicians, designers and photographers.
If you want to know more about its culture and art you must visit some of the ferias de Barranco.
1. La Feria
Located one block from the Plaza de Barranco and opens from Friday to Sunday from 12pm to 10pm. Here you can find almost everything you can be looking for: from unique peace of art to delicious food and drinks. If you are lucky, you can enjoy live music at night. It´s a good place for shopping and tasting some traditional Peruvian food.
The main idea of this feria is to support and promote artists, entrepreneurs and local business.
2. Feria Ecologica de Barranco
The most delicious and healthy fair in Barranco. There are 72 producers, distributors and processors of organic food and with organic certification. They come from different parts of Peru like Pachacamac, Cieneguilla, Huachipa, Manchay, Nazca, Huaral, Huancayo, Ayacucho, Huánuco, Oxapampa and different districts of Lima. Everybody with the main purpose of offering to the Barranco´s neighbors a new healthy lifestyle and respect for nature.
3. Mi Mercado Independiente
It is a fair that moves through different districts of Lima and gives the opportunity to be able to sell Independent Brands like clothes, accessories, shoes, personalized gifts, make-up, etc.
The next stop in Barranco is planned for 25 and 26 of March at Cultural Center Juan Parra del Riego (next to the main square). The fair will be open from 11am to 8pm.
You can find many interesting staff at any of those fairs from very cheap to more expensive. And of course everybody will enjoy the typical food and tasty desserts.
